-Destination Soccer graduates
-Players playing rec soccer
-If you are not currently participating on a team or in another NUU program please free feel to participate, it is not exclusive to current NUU players.

If you have questions about eligibility please email Katie Taylor.

Team Organization: The 5v5 League is designed to help players, future coaches and parents transition from rec soccer and Destination Soccer to Club Soccer. Each player will be assigned a team for the five game season that does not conflict with their recreation soccer, destination soccer or any other NUU programming. This can be viewed as extra or it can be combined with the Monday night Royalty Prep-TRAINING to get the most out of the soccer experience each week leading up to the May 23rd NUU tryout date.

Game Format: Ideally we will have between 4-8 teams of 7 players and a parent coach for each team. The teams will be coed. The NUU staff that is familiar with the players through other programs will do the best to create balanced teams to assure a competitive environment without blowouts. Each team will play four 12 minute quarters with a five minute half-time break. The players on the bench will be encouraged to play 2v2 or 3v3 on a mini pitch behind the benches so they can maximize their time on the ball during the hour. This is a prep league so no scores or standings will be kept.

Additional Notes:
-Players gain experience playing with a larger number of players on the field and gain confidence as they rotate through every position, including goalkeeper.
-Adults interested in coaching receive direction and mentoring in an environment where they can gain confidence as a youth caretaker on a soccer field.
-Parents get to learn about the multiple pathways NUU provides, the WHY behind the ”Rise to Royalty” programming and the strategies to help players fall in love with the game in a way that will make the sport part of their entire life.

Training (practice): We encourage players that are participating in the 5v5 prep league to either continue their Destination Soccer experience, participate in the Royalty Prep Training and/or train with their current team. We even have goalkeeper training this spring as part of our royalty prep training!

Coaching Opportunities/Assistance: We want to encourage parents to participate.
There is a component to this program that focuses on preparing coaches to manage teams in the future. We are excited to engage parents in the development process and encourage any parent wanting to learn to coach to be involved at a level that works for them. Once we have the players set we will invite parents to learn what it means to participate as a coach. When competitive teams are formed NUU relies on dedicated volunteer coaches to manage teams while being mentored by the club Director of Coaching. This allows the club fees to stay lower than other clubs in the are while also providing quality training programs.

Please invite friends that you think would like to participate.

2022 Spring Session Registration is open for individuals born in 2015 & 2014!!!

Summary
Royalty Prep is open for players born between 2015-2010. The environment is designed to challenge ambitious players while taking them out of their comfort zone. As the name of the program implies this experience is designed to help players reach their goals of making a positive impact on the team that they play for while also setting sights on playing with a team that shares their same ambitions. We hope to have a welcoming environment where like-minded (ambitious) players come together to push themselves and each other to become better. We want players to try new things, think about the game differently, and feel like they are in a place where they are free to make mistakes while holding themselves accountable to improve from their successes and failures. Players of every level are invited.  However, this is an environment where players will need to be ready to challenge and push themselves. Sign up for the next session before we are full.
